Hyposensitisation treatments

Once the allergens involved in the allergic process are identified, we recommend avoiding contact between patients and the identified allergens, as an immediate measure.

Hyposensitisation treatments have been developed for inhaled allergens, such as certain insects (Culicoides). These involve injecting an additional load of the causative allergens subcutaneously. With time, a combination of immunological factors are triggered and bring about a clinical improvement.

Laboratorios Vitros offers hyposensitisation treatments through its partner, INMUNOTEK, S.L. ( www.inmunotek.com )

These treatments are made of allergenic extracts for specific immunotherapy. They come as an alum-adsorbed semi-depot extract.

They are prepared with alum generated in the presence of the allergen. This process achieves an adsorption rate of higher than 90%, ensuring a real depot effect (slow allergen release) for all administered doses.

These hyposensitisation treatments are made up of two parts:

1. Induction treatment (3 vials)
2. Maintenance treatment (1 vial)

Positive effects are achieved on the medium and long-term. Thus, commitment to the established therapy is required from the part of the owner.

It is very important NOT TO ABANDON TREATMENT IN THE INITIAL PHASE.
